The focus of Pilates is to strengthen the core of the body. Pilates provides toning for all the muscles of the body, including stomach, hips, back and gluteal muscles. It increases flexibility, improves strength and leads to better body and posture awareness.

Reformer Pilates

Toning & Flexibility

The Pilates Reformer is an exercise machine used to incorporate the Pilates exercise technique for a challenging workout.

Springs, leverage and body weight are used as resistance while carrying out exercises that target specific muscle groups.

The Reformer offers an increased challenge in balance, strength, flexibility and coordination with amazing results.

Classes are held in small groups of 4 to ensure excellent quality instruction and attention to detail.

Springboard

Coordination & Challenge

The Pilates Springboard is a versatile piece of Pilates equipment made up of springs and levers attached to a wall mounted Springboard. 

It is used in standing and on the mat.  The Springboard enables a wide variety of exercises to provide a full body workout.

When using the Springboard each limb works with its own spring, meaning that each limb works independently.

This adds a significant coordination challenge – for the brain and for the body!

Hatha Yoga

Mind, Body & Spirit

Anusara is a branch of Hatha Yoga that means “flowing with grace”, “going with the flow” and “following your heart”.

It blends tantric philosophies with principles of alignment and movement.

Physical yoga poses (asana) are taught with a strong alignment focus to keep you safe and also challenged.

Integrated with this is breathwork (pranayama) and your instructor weaves a mindful theme through each class.

This style of yoga integrates the body and mind with heart and spirit. Anusara classes will inspire and uplift you!

Restorative Yoga

Relax & Release

Restorative Yoga is a place to unwind, relax and release tension in the body through passive poses using no muscular action.

It is a practice of “undoing” where we enter deep relaxation, meditation and stress release. It is a practice that can overcome insomnia and also neutralise any fear and anxiety.  Your instructor will guide you through the gentlest of poses, and breathwork, helping you connect breath, mind and body into one, calming the mind with the breath and body. The class will end with a Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is the perfect antidote for the stressors of our everyday lives. You will be guided into a state perfectly balanced between the edge of sleep and wakefulness, where both the conscious and subconscious can heal and relax.

You enter a profound state of receptive relaxation, while remaining aware and alert. Evidence suggests a forty five minute practice of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent to a 3 hour sleep.

Freestyle Fitness Yoga is taught from a fitness perspective. This is to help you understand where you should be feeling each posture and most importantly why you are doing it!
