London Road is where a love of fitness meets expert treatment. • What classes and services do you offer at London Road?

We’ve got a great selection of classes and services for you to choose from to achieve all your fitness goals.

We offer both pilates and yoga classes in a range of styles and forms. Try our Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates or Springboard classes! As for yoga, we teach Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga Flow, Freestyle Fitness yoga and more!

Last but not least, we’ve got some amazing sports therapy services here at London Road. We’ve got trained specialists to give you the best care in physiotherapy, prehab and sports massage. Click here to find out more.

  • Who teaches the classes?

Our classes are taught by a passionate team of expert instructors, each with extensive personal experience and a love of yoga or pilates. Our instructors are dedicated to helping you make the most of your classes and feeling supported throughout your fitness journey, whatever your ability level.

  • I’ve never done yoga or pilates before, how do I know which one is best fit for me?

Yoga and pilates have similar health benefits, so it’s really a matter of figuring out which one you like best.

If you’re specifically looking to strengthen your core and tone your muscles, pilates might be the best choice.

Yoga is all about improving your strength and flexibility, but with a greater focus on alignment and breathwork. If you’re looking for classes to help you de-stress and find balance, yoga is a great option.

Whichever class you choose, you’ll definitely improve your fitness level and give your body and mind a boost! Why not give both a try and see which one you prefer?

  • Do I need to have previous yoga or pilates experience to attend?

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or have years of experience, you’re more than welcome to attend our classes.

All our classes are designed for individuals of all ages and levels. So don’t worry if you’ve never done yoga or pilates before, you’ll discover everything you need to know on the mat. Our trained instructors will do their very best to guide you along the way and tailor every session to your needs.

  • What should I wear to yoga or pilates class?

You don’t need to wear anything fancy. Just make sure you’re wearing something that’s light, comfy and easy to move in, like a t-shirt and a pair of sports leggings or shorts.

We recommend avoiding loose clothing and removing any hanging jewellery so it doesn’t get in the way during our classes. Please refrain from using any lotions or oils that might make the floor unsafe or slippery in class!

  • Is there anything else I need to bring to class?

Make sure to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated! Feel free to bring your own yoga or pilates mat if you have one, but we also have some you can borrow. You might find a towel useful in case you work up a sweat!

  • Can you hold a space for me in the class?

Unfortunately, we can’t hold an empty space for you in a class without full payment. We’re a small studio and we have a waiting list for most of our classes, so make sure you get on the waiting list to save your spot!

  • How do I make the payment for a class?

We have a host of payment options to choose from, so you can decide what works best for you. You can make your payment easily either online by following the instructions when you book a class, or over the phone, or in person at our studio.

  • What do I do if I can’t make it to class?

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to a class. You can cancel booked classes up to 24 hours before the class starts. Keep in mind that unfortunately you won’t be refunded for any classes that you miss.

  • How can I schedule an appointment for physiotherapy or a sports massage?

You can book an appointment with one of our experts in just a few minutes! Simply click on the ‘Physiotherapy’ button at the top of our Homepage, then click on 'Book a consultation' and select either 'Physio initial assesment' if it's your first visit or 'Physio follow up', a calendar will be displayed with availability, just find a time slot that works for you, and follow the instructions - it’s as easy as that!

  • What is your Chaperone Policy for Physiotherapy and Massage Appointments?

    Chaperones and Consent

At London Road Health and Fitness we are committed to providing a safe comfortable environment, where patients can be confident that best practice is followed at all times, using the guidance of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

    What is a chaperone?

A chaperone is an adult, usually a health professional, or healthcare worker, who is specifically trained as a chaperone and has a specific role to play during the consultation.

As a small practice, London Road Health & Fitness is unable to provide a formal chaperone (as defined above).

Clients may attend the consultation with a friend, partner or relative for company or support – please notify our reception in advance of your appointment if you intend to bring a companion to your appointment.

    Children

All clients aged under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult (parent or guardian) during examinations and treatment sessions.

Children aged 16 or over can consent to their own treatment and so do not require an adult to attend treatment.

What to expect at your appointment

To achieve the best possible Physiotherapy or Massage Therapy assessment and treatment, clients may be asked to undress to an appropriate degree. You may, therefore, feel more comfortable bringing a vest top, sports bra, or shorts etc to change into for your appointment.

If a client is required to undress, towels or a blanket will be provided for modesty. If you would like the therapist to leave the room whilst you undress or dress, please just let them know.

Please let your therapist know at any time during your assessment if you are uncomfortable. The client is responsible for consenting verbally to examination and treatment. The client has the right to withdraw consent at any time.
